The knowledge of this group is very broad ranging, and several members program in a variety of platforms including LAMP, Java and Microsoft. We discuss PHP development within the Symfony2 framework.  Sure, we make reference to other frameworks (even Symfony 1.x) as well as other third-party tools that work well with Symfony2, but the core discussion is Symfony2.   The format is informal, PowerPoint presentations are not typical (although there is a projector so we can reference code, information relevant to the discussion) and we encourage participation from everyone.
