We are trying to emulate, replicate, flatter the original Lambda Lounge in St. Louis. The Lambda Lounge is a monthly user group in St. Louis organized loosely around the idea of exploring dynamic and functional languages. More broadly, its an open forum to examine new advances in programming languages and libraries. Their site: lambdalounge.org
There is PHP in Louisville. As such, it's time to restart the PHP User Group. Our first meeting was Wednesday, May 30th. During which we reviewed talks from PHP|tek 12 and promptly named the group LouPUG. An acronym for Louisville PHP User Group. The plan is to meet the last Wednesday of each month. The Dayton Dynamic Language User Group is primarily focused on, as you can tell by the name, dynamic languages. If you're interested in Ruby (including Rails), Python (including Django), PHP, Perl, Javascript, Scheme, Lisp, Smalltalk, etc, this is probably the place for you. We try not to talk specifically about things like C and Java, but there are no hard and fast rules (especially if you're comparing them to a dynamic language).
