Very last minute informal meetup tonight at the usual spot (Vivace) and usual time (7pm).
I will create an irc channel on irc.freenode.net called #php-seattle if people want to meet virtually at that time. Here's some general instructions from the Drupal site (drupal meets at #drupal and other channels but the basic instructions work for anyone): http://drupal.org/nod... Tonight we'll discuss and hopefully propose a book. We'll also discuss group structure, meeting location, communication, etc. needed to get the ball officially rolling (by next Thurs?!). I've looked at those available for free online (you need a Seattle Public Library card to access) through the Safari database and found one on Scribd. I created a spreadsheet comparing the chapters for idea of how it's organized and approximate average chapter length. Anyone who wants to edit this spreadsheet is welcome, just send me your email address and I'll make you an editor. http://spreadsheets.g... Most discussion is happening on the mailing list, I'm x-posting here for general reference. |

Also, in reference to the "room" not being available, there is a little seating area in the lobby (towards the restrooms) @ the coffee place. So if there aren't too many of "us", we can probably use that and avoid the noise :)
