There is so much ground to cover and so many areas to explore ...

I would like to see the group have 1 presentation per week with each individual making a presentation in an area that they either havea strength in or are willing to do the work/research or locate a specialist that we all can learn from ...

Some of the topics I wold like to see covered are:

Web Design & CSS (Cascading Style Sheets)

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Designing your website for maximum exposure

PHP & MySQL
Resources
Tips and Techniques
Debugging
Best PRactices

Data Normalization

How to promote your web skills

Tell me what you are interested in getting out of this group

I like the idea of a presentation per week. If we can start up a list of different topics to cover from Business application to PHP & MySQL design, we can vote on the order of the topics then have members volunteer for each one. I like the list of topics you have so far. SEO is important for any website, especially a business. I think database structure & development concepts would be a welcomed topic that would benefit a lot of members. Conceptual application design habits would go far to help some. Understanding PHP error reports, and using and/or creating a error handler with PHP, is a definite must. Understanding Client / Developer relationship skills can help a person interact more efficiently with a prospective client.

I think a good list of categories would be:

  • Good Programming Habits
  • Optimization Techniques
  • PHP
  • MySQL (Databases)
  • [X]HTML & CSS
  • Search Engine Optimization
  • Project Management
  • Client to Developer Skills
  • Business Skills
  • Open Technologies
  • How to Party Harty :D

I've tried to group them into reasonable categories, and each one has a good sub-set of categories to expound upon. smile
