Hi everyone, I have a topic that I would like to discuss between meetings. Most of you work as developers in varying capacities as a day-job. I was a casualty of the dot-com burst in North Carolina a few years ago. Since moving up here, I found a good job in sales (with some technical support) but it's not what I want to do. So I got sidetracked for a couple of years. I've done some side jobs/projects for friends in NC, but nothing here. I would really like to get back into IT/development My questions are: 1) what is market like now up here here in RI/NewEngland for developers (applications/web) for permanent and freelance work and 2) for freelance work, how do you all find jobs to work on? I'd like to do a few more side projects before looking for some full-time work. For full-time work, who are some of the bigger/better companies to work for (and those that are hiring)? Thanks!
