“ Almost didn't go, school starts tomorrow, so this was last meetup for a while. I'm glad I did. Some of us had a great discussion about the industry, employers, legal issues in the marketplace, dealing with clients, etc. This was a refreshing change for me. I have found, in striking up conversations with professional programmers in general, that as soon as I ask questions pertaining to what it is actually like to work in the industry, that people clam up or their answers are very "mysterious" -- whether because they truly don't know how to describe it, or are too snobbish to want to talk to people who are not yet employed in the industry, I can't honestly tell. It was informative to learn two people's very different approaches to "litmus-testing" potential clients (Mike C. and ???). Sorry, I am bad at names, and I can't seem to match an RSVP w/the person. Nice to see Andrew and Sam S., meet new freinds (Diego, Hilary, etc.). Hope I can attend another, maybe during vacation! ”
