Our local meetup group virtually died due to lack of attendance. Now I'm trying to grow our local san diego PHP user group. My experience has been that it's difficult to get people to come to meetings in the first place and those who attend one meeting rarely come back.
Can you share what has worked in getting and keeping attendance to your meetings? Thank you. Kawika Ohumukini San Diego, CA USA |

Consistency is a strong draw. A decent place to eat helps too. The coffee shop at Borders did not work and Denny's was not very good. Maybe the best draw is the combining of three groups into one. The web development, MySQL, and PhP groups are together because they are somewhat related. There are always several people at the meetup with the multi-group.
You may need to go to a few MeetUps by yourself whlie developing consistency, so find a place that has good food! Gale Edited by Gale on Sep 12, 2005 1:36 AM |
